human interface device (shard 2)

Human Interface Device is a concept album cycle consisting of 4 8-track LPs of deep tech instrumental music with genres ranging from electronic deep tech to synth based rock. HID project consisting of 4 separate but connected LPs via shards. This project will include a stem project where the stems will be shared for other musicians to take and create their own versions or remixes of the tracks. This continues the theme of humans interfacing with machine and co-existing with them to create something entirely new from existing patterns and compositions.

December 31, 2022 marks the release of Shard 2, available on all streaming platforms.

Shards 3 and 4 will be released in the coming months.

MEET THE ARTIST

a-obie

A-Obie has been writing, recording, and performing music since the 1990s. From 2003-2005 and based out of New Orleans, LA, A-Obie performed as a multi-instrumentalist (bass guitar, sitar, organ/strings, backing vocals) all along the Gulf South in a duo called “The Astronauts” as they opened for various bands in South Louisiana. After Hurricane Katrina displaced the duo, A-Obie went on a hiatus, moved into cajun country focusing on his family and personal life. In 2021 A-Obie continued to learn production and composition. In December 2021, kernel.restart() was released as his debut and has ushered in a new era of creativity and output.
